Sonamura, Tripura, 2nd of February, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police, secret operation was launched in at Sonamura on Monday (2nd February, 2026). Sonamura Police, recovered and seized total 47 Kg Ganja (cannabis).
According to sources, Sonamura Police during patrolling duty at UNC Nagar and Gilamura border road recovered and seized total 47 kg DRY ganja, as unclaimed. After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed. And Sonamura police station has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal ganja. Destination market value of the seized ganja approx – 9 Lakh 60 thousands only.
Interacted with the media, Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that, a case was registered against him in Sonamura police station and investigation is in progress. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
