Sonamura Police Seize 790 Kg Dry Cannabis.

Sonamura, Tripura, 19th of February, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police, secret operation was launched in at  Sonamura on Thursday (19th February, 2026). Sonamura Police, recovered and seized total  790 Kg Ganja (cannabis).

According to sources, Today  Sonamura Police early morning on the basis of secret information conducted raid and search in the house of Ram Krishna Debbarma (43) of Bijoynagar, PS- Sonamura. SPJ TPA and recovered and seized total 790 kg dry ganja. In this regard, registered one NDPS Case In this case total 03 drug paddlers detains. The names of the arrested persons Ram Krishna Debbarma (43)  of Bijoynagar, Sonamura. SPJ TPA, Bhagyasri Debbarma (35)  of Bijoynagar, Sonamura, SPJ TPA and Dipankar Sarkar (18) of Batadola, Paschimpara, Sonamura, SPJ TPA.

Interacted with the media, Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that, a case was registered against him in Sonamura police station and investigation is in progress. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
