Sonamura, 14th of November, 2025 : Sonamura Police, in joint operations with 81th BN BSF, secret operation was launched at Sonamura on Thursday (13th November, 2025) night. Sonamura Police, arrested one man and seized a total of 30.170 grams Cannabis.
According to sources, Sonamura Police Last night, based on a secret operation, conducted a joint raid and arrested one drug peddler from Kalapania, Shalkhet under Sonamura Police Station. A total of 30.170 kg of dry cannabis was seized from him, which was kept inside a blue plastic drum. Along with this, a white Hyundai Aura car bearing registration number TR-03Q-0568 was also seized. It has been revealed that this vehicle was being used for transporting narcotic substances. His name is Delwar Hossain (28), residence of Kalapania Shalket area under Sonamura Police Station.
Interacted with the media, Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that, a case was registered against him in Sonamura police station under the NDPS section. And Sonamura police station has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal contrabands. Many more people from that area may be arrested in this case.
