Sonamura, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police, in joint operations with 81th BN BSF and 11th BN TSR conducted raid and search and recovered 541.200 Kg Dry Cannabis (Ganja) and recovered Indian cash currency 5,04,080/- android mobile phones, documents at Matinagar Madhya para ward no -05 under Sonamura Police Station on Saturday (28th August, 2026) last night.
According to Sonamura PS on the basis of secret information conducted raid and search at Matinagar Madhya para ward no -05 under Sonamura PS, in the dwelling house of one drug paddler and recovered and seized total 541.200 Kgs, dry ganja into 12 no, s blue colour drum and also recovered total indian cash currency 5,04,080/- android mobile phones, documents.
In this regard one specific case registered at Sonamura ps under NDPS act -1985.
The house owner’s arrested and tomorrow will forwarded in the LD court with police remand prayer, after observing all legal formalities.
A large-scale destruction operation was conducted under Sonamura Police station leading by Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station covering with support from 81 BN BSF and 11th BN TSR.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
