Sonamura, Tripura, 28th of July, 2026 : Sonamura Police conducted raid and search at UNC Nagar, Matinagar, Batadola border road side recovered 45.500 Kg Dry Cannabis (Ganja) under Sonamura PS on Monday (27th July, 2026) last night.
According to sources, Sonamura Police last night during mobile duty at UNC Nagar, Matinagar, Batadola border road side recovered and seized total-45.500 kg dry ganja. After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to be 9 Lakhs 10 thousands only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
