Guwahati, Assam, 31st of May, 2025 : A Special Awareness Programme (SAP) was organized on Friday (30th May, 2025) at Khetri Adarsha Madhyamik School, Khetri, Kamrup, by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Guwahati. Despite continuous rainfall, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and community members.

The event began with cultural performances by Aikyatan, the private registered troupe of CBC, Guwahati, which captivated the audience and added a vibrant touch to the programme. Addressing the gathering, Shri Lakhi Prasad Gaur, President of the school committee and a social worker, emphasized the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation, saying, “Swachchta Hi Seva teaches us the value of cleanliness in our lives, and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ reminds us to cherish nature as we do our mothers.”
Shri Diganta Bora, Principal of Khetri Adarsha Madhyamik School, spoke about the significance of a drug-free society, stating, “Nasha Mukt Bharat is a vision for a healthier and stronger India, free from addiction and full of opportunities.”
The programme was also graced by Smt. Anjana Kashyap, a senior teacher, and Shri Maheswar Das, a member of the school committee, while Smt. Hiramani Das, Field Exhibition Officer, CBC, Guwahati delivered the welcome address.

An open quiz competition on the themes of cleanliness, environmental care, and Nashamukti awareness was also held during the event. The winners were awarded prizes on the spot. More than 250 students participated in the programme. CBC, Guwahati is organising such awareness programmes across Assam on various Government themes.
