“The State Government has taken an initiative to bring back 208 students of Tripura who were studying there due to the situation in Manipur. For this purpose three special commercial Flights of IndiGo have been arranged by the State Government”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha informed about this initiative of the State Government in a press conference today (6th May, 2023). The Chief Minister said that several high-level meetings have been held on the initiative of the State administration for the last two days regarding the situation in Manipur. The Chief Minister of Manipur has also spoken about the safety of the students. The Chief Minister of Manipur assured the State Government that the safety of the children of the state has been ensured. Talked with Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the situation in Manipur.
In the press conference, the Chief Minister also said that discussions have also been held with the parents of the students of the State studying in Manipur. The parents appealed to the State Government to bring the students back to the State. Three commercial flights of IndiGo have been arranged by the State Government taking into account the appeal of the parents and to ensure the safety of the students. The Chief Minister also informed that a commercial flight of IndiGo will land from Imphal to Agartala at midnight today with 171 students studying in RIMS. Besides, 37 students of the state studying at the Central Agricultural University in Manipur will reach Guwahati from Imphal at midnight today. Tomorrow they will be brought to the state from Guwahati. The Chief Minister said that the entire cost of bringing the students back to the state by the State Government. Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, DGP Amitabh Ranjan, Secretary of ICA Department P.K Chakraborty were present at the press conference.
