Dharmanagar, Tripura, 4th of July 2026 : To promote road safety awareness among the public, the North District Traffic Police organized a special traffic awareness campaign in Dharmanagar town. The programme was led by North District Superintendent of Police Abhinash Rai and witnessed the active participation of volunteers from the NSS Unit of Sribhumi Vidyabhavan Higher Secondary School.The awareness drive was conducted as part of the school’s seven-day NSS Special Camp.

During the campaign, student volunteers visited various key locations across the town, urging pedestrians, motorcyclists, and other motorists to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations. They also highlighted the importance of wearing helmets, fastening seat belts, and refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol.Officials present at the programme stated that a majority of road accidents occur due to negligence and violations of traffic regulations.

They emphasized that creating public awareness and encouraging responsible road behaviour are among the most effective ways to reduce accidents.The joint initiative by the police administration and NSS volunteers received a positive response from the residents of Dharmanagar. The organizers expressed hope that such awareness programmes would continue in the future, helping to reduce road accidents and foster a safer and more responsible traffic environment.
