Agartala, 13th of February 2024 : With the initiative of Agartala Press Club Sports and Games Fest-’24 started with great enthusiasm at Agartala Press Club on Tuesday (13th February, 2024). Like every year, this year also Agartala Press Club will organize annual sports competitions as well as indoor-outdoor games among journalists. Today, Ludo competition will be held but successively Cricket, Carrom, Table Tennis, Chess, Chinese Checkers, Badminton (doubles) and finally the annual sports competition will also be held. State level Inter-Press Club cricket tournament and badminton singles competition have already been held. Bikash Dhanuk became the champion and Abhijit Majumder became the runners-up in the Ludo competition held on Tuesday. Sumit Kumar Singh got the third place.
In the opening ceremony, Convener of Sports Sub Committee Abhishek Dey delivered the welcome speech. Alok Ghosh Chairman of Sports Sub Committee and Manish Lodh, Executive Club member thanked all concerned. Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Club members and other officials were also present in the tournament.
Senior journalist and Tournament Technical Director Suprabhat Debnath in charge of the program and games. A cricket competition will be held among journalists on February 17. All contestants to report at Bholagiri play ground by 9:30 am. Convener of Sports Sub Committee Abhishek Dey informed this information in a statement.
