Agartala, Tripura, 3rd of July, 2026 : With the initiative of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Government of Tripura organized the District Level Jan Sammelan-cum-Launch Event of Viksit Bharat-Guarantee For Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G-RAM-G) Programme at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (2nd July, 2026).
In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Social Welfare and Social Education minister Tinku Roy was inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Along with the rest of the country, in Tripura also the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) or VB-G RAM G Act has been introduced. Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan formally launched the Act at a special ceremony held in Mukkavaripalli village under Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. The central programme was live telecast in different states. Live telecast was also arranged at Nazrul Kalakshetra as part of the state-level event in the state.
Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy graced the state level programme at Nazrul Kalakshetra. Speaking on the occasion the Social Welfare and Social Education Minister said with the launch of the VB-G RAM G Act a new chapter has begun. With the objective of ensuring livelihood avenues in rural areas and strengthening inclusive development the said Act has been launched in the state as well. Under the new Act every eligible rural family will be entitled to 125 days of wage employment at the rate of Rs. 300 per day. He added, all necessary initiatives have been taken to implement the Act in the state.

This event has been organized to make the rural people aware of the new Act. In order not to hamper the agricultural production, 60 days of a year have been designated as ‘peak agricultural season’. During this season implementation of the VB-G RAM G Act will remain suspended. The minister was hopeful that the newly introduced Act would play a vital role in the achievement of target of Viksit Bharat 2047. The state government is committed to deliver the benefits of this new act to the target beneficiaries. He urged all to cooperate in this mission.

The event was also attended by MDC Geeta Debbarma, acting Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zila Parishad Biswajit Shil, additional secretary of the rural development department Subhash Chandra Saha. Welcome address was delivered by DM, West Tripura, Dr. Vishal Kumar. ADM Arup Deb discussed in detail about the provisions of VB-G RAM G Act. Besides, Ratna Das, member of Maa Manasa SHG from Old Agartala Block, taking part in the national level virtual programme, briefly spoke about her journey to self-reliance.
