Agartala, Tripura, 19th of August, 2024 : With the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Government of Tripura State Level celebrated the 116th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur has been conducted at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on Monday (19th August, 2024).
In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. The Chief Minister and other guests paid floral tributes to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s birth anniversary.
Addressing the 116th birth anniversary celebration of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur played an immense role in taking Tripura to the development. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s birthday celebrations will only be meaningful if his life philosophy and progressive thinking can be passed on to the next generation. There is no place in the state where the memory of Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur is not involved.
The Chief Minister also added that Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur wanted to develop Tripura in a new way. He has written many valuable books. Maharaja Bir Bikram established the airport at Agartala. Which the present Government has done in the name of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur out of respect for the Maharaja. The Chief Minister said that Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur a enforced the Land Reforms Act. He was the first to encourage people to adopt modern methods of farming instead of Jhum cultivation. He several schemes in the fields of agriculture, education, health, communication, culture. A statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur has been installed at zero point of Maharaja Bir Bikram Chaumuhani, adjacent to Kaman Chaumuhni, Agartala city. The Chief Minister said that the present government of the central and state under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given real respect to the people of the State.
Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty also spoke on the occasion. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble MP Kriti Singh Debbarma, teachers, students, and many other dignitaries were present in the birth anniversary ceremony.
