State-Wise Plantation Drive Under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 Campaign.

Agartala, Tripura, 18th of June, 2025 : With the initiative of State Government of Tripura organized State-Wise Plantation Drive under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 Campaign at Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ H.S School, Agartala, Tripura on Wednesday (18th June, 2025). In the In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the events.

Addressing the gathering Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken role in implementing this program to commemorate the role of mothers in raising a family. The program titled Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam ‘ was started in 2023 with the aim of turning the tree plantation program into a mass movement. The contribution of trees in protecting the environment is undeniable. Human society depended on forests the most for the development of civilization. Just as a mother has a relationship with her child, trees are also connected to us in the same way. The Chief Minister said that 2 lakh 70 thousand trees were planted under this program in 2023 and 5 lakh trees in 2024.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha remarked that today’s program, In today’s program, approximately 142,000 trees will be planted with the participation of 242,000 students and 9,000 mothers in 3,600 schools across 8 districts of the state.This program will continue throughout the month. The Chief Minister said that special plans should be made for planting trees so that these trees do not have to be destroyed for any need in the future

In today’s program, the Chief Minister planted 7 different varieties of trees including Agar and Sandalwood in the school premises. Moreover, 75 local mothers including the guardians of the school girls planted trees today. School Education Department Secretary Raval Hemendra Kumar, Director N. C. Sharma SCERT Director L. Darlong was the special guest at the event.
