Agartala, Tripura, 14th of September, 2024 : Students suffer due to shortage of Teachers In Swami Dayalananda Vidyaniketan H.S School under Banamalipur Assembly Constituency. Classes are closed due to shortage of teachers in Arts department. Students demand immediate provision of two teachers for each subject.
According to the rules, teachers cannot be transferred from any grant-in-aid school. But the education department is breaking its own rules. The school has Arts and Science departments in classes XI and XII. But it appears that History and Education classes are completely closed due to lack of teachers.
Philosophy has only one teacher, one teacher of Bengal , one person of Sanskrit. There is only one teacher in the Chemistry of the science department. Those classes are also closed if they go on vacation for any reason. But there are more than two hundred students in eleventh and twelfth class. The school does not have a headmaster/headmistress . Milli Dharserved as a teacher as teacher in charge. There are 2 teachers in Political Science with her. But most of the time she has to be busy with all the administrative work of the school. Students demand immediate provision of two teachers for each subject. Teachers are being removed from schools but new ones are not being given.
Meanwhile, teacher-in-charge Milli Dhar interacting with media she said that she informed the District Education officer about the shortage of teachers. He is hopeful that maybe the teacher will be given. Currently, the school has more than four hundred students from sixth to standard, but there are only 27 teachers. One is on deputation.
