Rupaichari, Tripura, 7th of December, 2024 : Doctors and health workers were able to vaccinate the child by visiting the homes of reluctant family members. The incident took place in Rupaichari in South Tripura District. Dr. Rahul Das, the in-charge physician of Rupaichari Primary Health Center, came to know that Mongla Mog, a resident of ST Colony in Sonaichari area, was not getting her child vaccinated. On receiving this news, a medical team from Rupaichari Primary Health Center rushed to the area on the morning of December 4.

Dr. Rahul Das came to the house of Mongla Mog in this ST Colony, about five kilometers away, and spoke directly to the family and explained the importance of vaccinating the child in detail to the child’s parents. Then, since the child’s parents agreed to vaccinate their child, he came to the MCH clinic of the Rupaichari Primary Health Center on the same day and got the child vaccinated. On that day, a total of 12 children were vaccinated against various diseases at this health center. They were given Penta vaccine to prevent diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis-B, Haemophilus influenza type-B, Rotavirus vaccine to prevent diarrhea, OPV vaccine to prevent polio, MR vaccine to prevent measles and rubella, GenVec vaccine to prevent Japanese encephalitis virus, PCV vaccine to prevent pneumonia, FIPV vaccine to prevent polio. The medical team included Dr. Rahul Das, the in-charge physician of Rupaichari Primary Health Center, MPS Shrishti Kumar Tripura, DO Bishwajit Shil, CHO Aparna Das, MPW Nikenti Tripura.
