Sujoy Mukherjee’s Hunar Emerges As One Of 2026’s Most Acclaimed Short Films. Rakesh Bedi & Tej Sapru At Cinedreams.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, 16th of May 2026 : Director Sujoy Mukherjee and actor Rohit Roy are celebrating another milestone as their short film Hunar picked up major awards at the Cinedreams International Film Festival 2026 in Mumbai.

Rohit Roy was honored with the Best Actor award, while Sujoy Mukherjee won Best Director, continuing the film’s remarkable award-winning journey.

Rakesh Bedi & Tej Sapru were present at CineDreams International Film Festival.

The socially driven short film had earlier won Best Social Film at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival in Delhi, strengthening its reputation as one of the year’s most impactful festival films.

Starring Rohit Roy, Madhurima Tuli, and Vidhaan Sharma, Hunar explores how children often sacrifice their true interests under pressure to fulfill expectations set by parents and society.

Critics and audiences have praised the film for its natural storytelling style and emotionally grounded performances. Rather than relying on exaggerated emotions, the film delivers a sincere narrative that resonates deeply with viewers.

The film has already won over 26 awards across various festivals including Ahmedabad International Film Festival, Nashik International Film Festival, Delhi Shorts International Film Festival, and Golden Jury Film Festival.

Sujoy Mukherjee, who also manages Filmalaya Studios, has steadily built a reputation for meaningful cinema. His earlier short film Ab Mujhe Udna Hai won 39 awards globally and received widespread recognition.
