Mumbai, Maharashtra, 10th of March, 2025 : The highly anticipated film The Secret of Devkali, featuring an ensemble cast of Mahesh Manjrekar, Sanjay Mishra, Niraj Chauhan, Anushka Chauhan, Bhumika Gurung, Zarina Wahab, and Prashant Narayanan, had its teaser launched at the Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai. Directed and produced by Niraj Chauhan, the teaser offers a powerful message about the importance of loving animals and respecting nature. The event saw the presence of the film’s core team, including Niraj Chauhan,Amit Lekhwani ,Manoj Karotia, Anushka Chauhan and writer Neha Soni.
The teaser raises several thought-provoking questions. With impressive VFX, it depicts the tragic hunting of free-roaming deer in the jungle, conveying a strong message against meddling with nature. In just a few seconds, the teaser hints at the film’s theme, urging audiences to respect and protect the natural world.
Speaking about the film, Director Niraj Chauhan and writer Neha Soni shared that this film is a tribute to eternal culture and our love for nature. It addresses the battle of righteousness against unrighteousness. The film sends a clear message that killing innocent creatures is never justifiable. If even a few people are moved by this film and feel a deeper connection to animals, nature, and our cultural values, we will have achieved the purpose for which this film was made.
He further added, “The shoot location is Mathura Vrindavan .We had been releasing a teaser in Jagran Film Festival for unveiling the first look of our film. The response from the audience here has been incredibly encouraging, and their enthusiasm for the film has only grown.”
As per writer Neha Soni the storyline of ‘The Secret of Devkali’, is a gripping mystery. The plot revolves around the village of Devkali, where two communities coexist: one that follows the path of non-violence and another that is accused of hunting deer. According to a local belief, whenever an innocent creature is tortured, the goddess herself reincarnates to eliminate the evil. When the atrocities reach their peak, the goddess takes the form of Madhav to rid the village of wrongdoers. The film also reveals the curse that has kept any girl from getting married in the village for the last 25 years.
Produced under the banner of Chauhan Productions, The Secret of Devkali stars Niraj Chauhan as the lead character of Madhav Tyagi. Anushka Chauhan, who plays the role of Nitya, expressed her excitement about her debut film.
