Agartala, Tripura, 24th of September, 2024 : The two-day Tripura Rubber Conclave-2024 was inaugurated yesterday (23rd September, 2024) by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at a private hotel in Agartala, showcasing the state’s growing appeal as an investment hub.

Addressing the two-day Tripura Rubber Conclave inaugural speech , the Chief Minister emphasized Tripura’s favourable environment for industrial development, positioning the state as a key destination for investors.A booklet titled Transforming Tripura: The Land of Opportunities was unveiled, along with the screening of a documentary showcasing the rapid growth of the rubber industry in the state. The event saw participation from successful industrialists who shared their experiences, reinforcing Tripura’s industrial potential.”Tripura is second in the country in rubber production, contributing 9 percent to India’s overall output,” the Chief Minister said. He also highlighted the global recognition of the state’s high- quality rubber, which has spurred growth in multiple sectors, including rubber wood furniture manufacturing which is now popular locally and exported abroad. At the event, Dr. Saha announced the establishment of a second rubber park in Santirbazar, following the success of the Bodhjungnagar Rubber Park, underlining the government’s commitment to expanding the rubber industry and developing other sectors like bamboo and food processing industry. Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, speaking at the conclave, echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments, praising the state’s exceptional quality of rubber. She reiterated the government’s dedication to expand the rubber sector.

The welcome speech is being delivered by Shija Hospital Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Pulin Kundangbam. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Chief Secretary J.K Sinha, Secretary of Industries and Commerce Department Kiran Gitte, Tripura Industrial Corporation Chairman Navadal Banik and Chief Conservator of Forest R.K Samal were present at the event.
