Thieves Attack Shop In Khowai.

Khowai, 5th of February, 2024 : Thieves attacked shops in Singicherra area under Khowai police station in the dark of night and stole about Eighty thousand rupees worth of goods. The shop owner came to the shop on Monday (5th February, 2024) and witnessed the incident. The police administration is playing a role of silence in Khowai. Police personnel are not patrolling at night. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the group of thieves is organizing one theft after another. A group of thieves stole goods from two shops in a row at Singicherra pex bazaar, 1500 meters away from the Khowai police station, yesterday night.

According to the details of the incident, both Binoy Krishna Debnath and Tapas Acharjee have grocery shops in Pex Bazar of Khowai South Singicherra village Panchayat. After closing the shop last night, they locked up and went home. Came this morning and found their shop locked and thrown on the ground. The owner of the shop enters the shop and finds that all the items in the shop have been stolen. A group of thieves stole items Eighty thousand rupees worth of goods from two shops. Afterwards the incident was informed to Khowai police station over this occurrence. The theft has caused panic among other businessmen. On the one hand, the recession of the market business has caused thefts in it, and the traders have lost sleep at night. Apart from the Khowai police station, there is also a police outpost within the Khowai town.

According to locals, police outpost officers are busy checking bike and car helmets and documents throughout the day. Police personnel are not patrolling at night. Temples and shops in Khowai town are being attacked by thieves. Active role of police is not seen in Khowai.
