Dharmanagar, Tripura, 9th of May 2026 : The mysterious death of BJP Yuva Morcha Mandal President and Ward No. 5 Councillor Rahul Kishore Roy has created intense political tension in Dharmanagar. Amid the growing controversy, newly elected Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty addressed the media on Friday (8th May, 2026) at the North District BJP office, alongside party leaders.

Calling for peace and harmony, the MLA firmly stated, “Those who are truly responsible for Rahul’s death will not be spared under any circumstances.”Present at the press conference were BJP Dharmanagar Mandal President Shyamal Nath, North District BJP President Kajal Das, and several other party members.During the interaction, Jahar Chakraborty said that the overall development of Dharmanagar remains his top priority and appealed to people from all sections to cooperate in maintaining peace during the tense political situation.Responding to several questions from journalists regarding the investigation into Rahul Kishore Roy’s death, the MLA and other BJP leaders clarified that the individuals whose names are currently being circulated are not office-bearers or officially responsible members of the BJP organization.
He stated, “Some overenthusiastic youths identifying themselves with BJP used to participate in meetings and rallies, but they do not hold any organizational responsibility within the party.”At the same time, he alleged that a section of people has been trying to spread misinformation by using the BJP’s name following the incident. However, he expressed confidence that the truth would emerge through the investigation.
BJP leaders further stated that the law would take its own course and that strict action would be taken against the real culprits after a fair and impartial investigation. North District BJP President Kajal Das also remarked that the party never shelters criminals and that anyone found guilty would face strict action.
