TIPRA Motha Dominates Three Village Councils In Yubarajnagar, Wins 16 Of 21 Seats.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 6th of October, 2026 : The counting of votes for elections to three Village Councils under the Yubarajnagar RD Block in North Tripura district was completed peacefully on Monday amid tight security. From the morning, the administration maintained strict vigilance around the counting centre. At the end of the counting process, results for all 21 seats across the three Village Councils were declared. Tipra Motha emerged as the clear winner, securing 16 seats.Yubarajnagar Block BDO and Returning Officer Prosenjit Malakar said that Tipra Motha candidates won 16 of the 21 seats by substantial margins. The BJP won three seats, while the CPI(M) secured one seat and an independent candidate won one seat.

Vote counting began at the designated counting centre on Monday morning. The results for the respective seats were announced after the votes were counted in multiple rounds. Adequate security arrangements were put in place by the administration throughout the counting process. Security personnel were also deployed to maintain law and order.After the counting was completed, Returning Officer Prosenjit Malakar handed over certificates of election to the newly elected candidates. Following the announcement of the results, supporters of the victorious candidates were seen celebrating with enthusiasm. The administration, however, said that the entire counting process was completed peacefully.

The Returning Officer said that the counting process was conducted from the morning in accordance with the prescribed rules. No untoward incident was reported during the counting. The administration had taken precautionary measures in advance and ensured the necessary security at the counting centre.The Tipra Motha’s victory on 16 seats across the three Village Councils is being viewed as politically significant by observers. By securing 16 of the 21 seats on its own, Tipra Motha is believed to have demonstrated its organisational strength in the region. Meanwhile, the BJP’s three seats, along with one seat each for the CPI(M) and an independent candidate, could pave the way for new political equations in local politics.After the counting ended, an atmosphere of celebration prevailed among the supporters of the victorious candidates. The administration has appealed to everyone to maintain peace and public order.
