Dharmanagar, Tripura, 21st of July 2026 : An enchanting evening of Rabindra Sangeet, titled “Tomar Surer Dhara,” was organized on Sunday (20th July, 2026) at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan premises in Dharmanagar by Sangeetiki Music College. The event enriched the cultural atmosphere of the town and marked the conclusion of a three-day Rabindra Sangeet workshop held from July 16 to 18, aimed at promoting the authentic practice of Rabindra Sangeet among the younger generation.
The programme was attended by Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty as the chief guest. Several distinguished personalities from the cultural fraternity, music enthusiasts, and a large audience were also present to enjoy the performances.The highlight of the evening was a performance by Pralipta Ghosh, a renowned Rabindra Sangeet vocalist from Santiniketan and a recipient of the CCRT Scholarship. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Rabindra Sangeet at Visva-Bharati University, Ghosh captivated the audience with soulful renditions of several Tagore songs.
Students who participated in the workshop also took part in the concluding programme.Accompanied by harmonium, tabla, keyboard, and guitar, their performances created a captivating musical atmosphere.
The organizers stated that the workshop and its concluding cultural programme were intended to introduce the younger generation to the songs, philosophy, and cultural legacy of Rabindranath Tagore through dedicated learning and performance.The melodious evening left a lasting impression on the audience, who described it as a memorable addition to Dharmanagar’s vibrant cultural landscape.
