Sepahijala, Tripura, 7th of November, 2025 : Sepahijala District Level commemorated 150 years of India’s National Song Vande Mataram programme organized by District administration in collaboration with District Information & Cultural Affairs Department held at Sachin Dev Burman Smriti Kalakshetra at Bishramganj on Friday (7th November, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and other dignitaries offered floral tributes to the portrait of Bharat Mata as a mark of respect.
Addressing at the celebration of 150th Anniversary Of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that to free India from the disgrace of British rule, the freedom fighters adopted the song Vande Mataram as their guiding mantra. Many of India’s freedom fighters embraced death with a smile, chanting Vande Mataram till their last breath. This is where the true significance of Vande Mataram lies.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were District Magistrate & Collector Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, MLA of 15-Kamalasagar Constituency Antara Sarkar Deb, Additional District Magistrate Upendra Jamatia and many others remained present in the programme.
