Dharmanagar, Tripura, 14th of April 2026 : One of the most significant symbols of Bengali folk tradition, the Charak Puja of the Chaitra month, was celebrated this year with due reverence and enthusiasm at the of Dinanath Vidyamandir in Dharmanagar on Tuesday (14th April, 2026). Organized by a local athletic club, the event created a festive atmosphere across the area.As in previous years, a large number of devotees began gathering at the venue from the early hours of the day. The commenced with religious rituals, where devotees prayed for good health, peace, and prosperity. Traditional practices such as the of the Charak tree and other customary rituals were observed with devotion.

The main attractions of the event included the Charak spinning ritual and Kali dance performances, which drew huge crowds of spectators. Local sannyasis participated in the after observing strict vows, carrying forward a tradition that has been preserved for generations.Alongside the religious, a fair was also held at the venue, featuring stalls selling toys, sweets, and local food items, which became a major attraction for visitors.To ensure safety and maintain order, necessary arrangements were made by both the organizers and the local administration.
