Agartala, Tripura, 31st of December 2025 : The World Bank–assisted Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP) continues to create a positive impact across districts by strengthening public awareness and community participation. As part of this initiative, the District Project Management Unit (DPMU), North Tripura, organised a vibrant exhibition showcasing TRESP-supported activities at the Biswabandhu Sen Memorial SARAS Fair in Dharmanagar.

The TRESP stalls were inaugurated by Smt. Santana Chakma, Hon’ble Minister of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, encouraging women producer groups to showcase their marketing skills and products. Producer Groups (PGs) from Dasda, Jampui Hills, Damcherra, Laljuri and Pecharthal actively participated, displaying a diverse range of goods and attracting large public interest.

This initiative, led by the Tribal Welfare Department with enormous support of Shri Subhasis Das, Director. The Department has significantly boosted the confidence and enthusiasm of women farmers associated with the producer groups. Participation in the SARAS Fair enabled members to expand their market reach, strengthen business networks, and explore new livelihood opportunities.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of Ms. Chandni Chandran, IAS, District Magistrate & Collector, North Tripura, and Shri Bijoy Sinha, Additional District Magistrate, with dedicated teamwork from TRESP, DPMU, and BPMU officials. Prominent producer groups such as Fulban PG (Laljuri), Kalagang and RJK Bru PG (Damcherra), Naisnam PG (Jampui Hills), and Kishan PG (Dasda RD Block) benefitted from the initiative, which commenced from 29 December 2025.

With a strong focus on Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities, the Tribal Welfare Department remains committed to promoting inclusive growth through TRESP. Such initiatives are fostering hope, empowerment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities in tribal-dominated areas, paving the way for meaningful socio-economic transformation.
