Tripura Doctors And Nurses Capacity-Building Training At AIIMS, New Delhi.

Agartala, Tripura 5th of May, 2026 : The Hon’ble Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Manik Saha, is firmly committed to the overall improvement of the State’s healthcare services. With the objective of strengthening the health sector, the Government has been consistently undertaking various effective measures.

As part of this initiative, a special effort has been launched to enhance medical education and healthcare services in the state through joint collaboration between the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, and AIIMS, New Delhi. Additionally, guidance and support from AIIMS, New Delhi are being sought to improve the infrastructure and services of GBP Hospital.

As per the resolutions adopted in the Joint Task Force meeting held on January 27, 2026, in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, and with the objective of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, and AIIMS, New Delhi, official deputation has been approved for doctors and nursing officers of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital to participate in “Capacity Building Training” at AIIMS, New Delhi.

The under mentioned officials have been deputed to participate in the training programme: Assistant Professors from the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Chayan Chakma and Dr. Chayan Sarkar; Nursing Officers from the same department, Kalyani Das and Priyanka Das; Assistant Professors from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. Amulya Debbarma and Dr. Shanti Kumari Debbarma; and Nursing Officers Sangeeta Ghosh and Papiya Pal.

Among them, the first four officials will undergo training at AIIMS, New Delhi from May 2, 2026 to May 31, 2026, while the remaining four officials will attend the training from June 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026.

During the training period, the concerned officials will be treated as on official duty. Their salary and allowances will be provided in accordance with government rules. In addition, TA/DA and other admissible expenses will be borne by the Government of Tripura as per existing norms.

The Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, is formally sponsoring the above officials for this training programme and has requested AIIMS, New Delhi to make the necessary arrangements for the training.

This initiative is expected to enhance the skills of the state’s doctors and healthcare workers, thereby enabling the public to receive more advanced and improved healthcare services in the future.

Significantly, the first group of four doctors has already joined AIIMS, New Delhi for the “Capacity Building Training” programme and is gaining practical exposure to advanced medical practices and healthcare administration.
