Agartala, Tripura, 28th of August, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Thursday (27th August, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP arrested one (1) drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 10.340 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on Thursday (27th August, 2026) at 1430 hrs, SI Mangal Debbarma a/w staff managed to apprehend an accused person namely Sri Umar Faruk (20) S/O- Sri Abdul Matin of Bezimara, Ward No- 06, Sonamura, Sepahijala, West Tripura at Agartala railway station area along with a consignment of total 10.340 Kg full of contraband Ganja in his trolley bag.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be ₹ 2,00,000/- in black market.
Accordingly GRPS arrested him and seized the contraband ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no- 2026/GRP/061, dtd-27/08/2026, U/S- 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 has been registered against him.
