Agartala, Tripura, 27th of August, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Wednesday (26th August, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP arrested one (1) drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 12.330 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on Wednesday (26th August, 2026) at 1230 hrs, managed to apprehend an accused person namely Mitan Nama (39) S/O Sri Jaidev Nama of Paschim Dukli, Dukli Bazaar, PS- Amtali, West Tripura at Agartala railway station area along with a consignment of total 12.330 Kg full of contraband cannabis in his trolley bag.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be ₹ 2,50,000/- in black market.
Accordingly GRPS arrested him and seized the contraband ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no- 2026/GRP/059, dtd-26/08/2026, U/S- 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 has been registered against him.
