Agartala, Tripura, 28th of September, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (27th September, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 13.425 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on Sunday at about 2 PM, SI Biswajit Das and other Agartala GRPS staff managed to catch one person namely Giri Dhan Debbarma (20), S/O-Lt. Baisakh Moni Debbarma Of Dhanirampur, near Phantak Para J.B. School, PS-Sonamura District-Sepahijala at Agartala Railway Station yard near line no0-13 along with total 13.425 Kg Dry Ganja containing 09 nos packets kept in Black colour pithu bag.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be ₹7 Lakh in black market.
Accordingly GRPS arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP071, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B) /29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
