Agartala, Tripura, 11th of October, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (11th October, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 16.305 Kg Cannabis (Ganja).
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on 11th October, 2026 at about 11 AM, SI Biswajit Das and other Agartala GRPS staff managed to catch one person namely Sri Partha Biswas (26), S/O Lt. Falu Biswas of Ward No- 31, Sadhu Tilla, Chandra Mohanpara, PO- Renters Colony, PS- East Agartala, Dist- West Tripura At Agartala Railway Station yard inside of labour shed, near line no-13, at the loading/unloading area along with total 16.305 Kg of suspected to be contraband narcotic Ganja in a two trolley bags.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be ₹8 Lakh in black market.
Accordingly Railway Police have arrested him and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP073, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
