Tripura Railway Police Seizes 23.770 Kg Of Cannabis Worth ₹8,00,000 With 3 Women Drug Peddler In Agartala Railway Station.

Agartala, Tripura, 4th of November, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday (3rd November, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested three (3) Women drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 23.770 Kg of suspected contraband narcotic substance.

According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on 3rd November, 2026 at about 1100 hrs, SI Pankaj Biswas, along with other staff of Agartala GRPS, apprehended three women, namely (1) Smt. Mamta Devi (25), W/O Shraban Mandal, of Chakla Tola, Ward No. 14, PS Mahua Bazar, District Sharsha, Bihar; (2) Miss Sampi Kumari (19), D/O Late Siyacharan Mandal, of Chakla Tola, Ward No. 14, PS Mahua Bazar, District Sharsha, Bihar; and (3) Smt. Meera Rai (34), D/O Ranjan Kuwar, of Thaikhu, Block No. 03, PS Sub-Urban, District Dimapur, Nagaland at Agartala Railway Station, Platform No. 01, in front of the parking area, between the RPF Post, Agartala, and the Pay & Use Toilet.

According to sources, during the operation, a total of 23.770 kg of suspected contraband narcotic substance, suspected to be Ganja, was recovered from their respective bag in their possession.

Accordingly, the suspected contraband substance was seized, and the accused Railway police  arrested in connection with Agartala GRPS Case No. 2026GRP078, registered under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act, 1985.

The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be approximately ₹11,00,000/- (Rupees Eleven Lakh only)  in black market.

Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
