Gomati, Tripura, 28th of August, 2025 : Under the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP), district and block teams are working every day across multiple locations with dedication and commitment to achieve the project’s overall goal of enhancing rural livelihoods and service delivery. Various initiatives are being implemented simultaneously in aquaculture, livestock, agriculture, and producer group strengthening, reflecting TRESP’s multi-sectoral approach to rural economic development.

Field engagements have included discussions with the Sub-Assistant of Karbook on the selection of beneficiaries for nursery sheds and strategies for close collaboration with Block Level Workers to ensure transparency and inclusion. Teams also explored ways to form Agricultural Producer Groups with genuine farmers drawn from Self-Help Groups, ensuring community ownership and participation. Simultaneously, aquaculture development activities have gained momentum, with fingerlings being released for polyculture in the ponds of several producer groups across Karbook and other blocks. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, TRESP, and TSA, is designed to increase fish production and improve livelihood opportunities for rural households. Alongside fingerling distribution, teams have been verifying demo ponds and fishery plots at multiple locations such as Twikwthang, Baigya, Salswkang, and Mwchang to ensure the infrastructure is ready for effective implementation.
Livestock and piggery development have also been a major focus, with PG-level ARDD trainings being conducted for groups such as Saktharjak, Chwngsajak, and Hamsithung under the guidance of trained Pashu Sakhis and Veterinary Officers. These trainings are aimed at building technical knowledge and better livestock management practices among producer group members. The activities have been monitored and supported by officials from TRESP at both district and block levels, along with representatives from TSA, reflecting strong inter-agency coordination. Capacity building for producer groups is further being strengthened through dedicated sessions on book-keeping and record maintenance for PG presidents, secretaries, and treasurers under Silachari R.D. Block. Teams are also supporting business development planning and data collection for agricultural producer groups such as Grace Agri PG, ensuring that producer groups are equipped with the skills and information needed for long-term sustainability.
Daily monitoring and field verification are ongoing across the district, including the inspection of ponds for polyculture in Baisyamani and Haripur villages and the assessment of azolla plots and demo ponds in various other locations. These consistent, ground-level efforts underline the commitment of the district and BPMU teams to TRESP’s objectives. By integrating aquaculture, livestock, agriculture, and institutional strengthening, the project is steadily creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, building local capacities, and promoting inclusive growth.

The ongoing interventions under TRESP in Gomati district demonstrate how continuous and coordinated work at the grassroots level is driving rural economic growth and service delivery. Every day, district and block teams remain engaged in diverse, multi-stage activities to transform rural livelihoods, ensuring that the project’s vision reaches the communities it is meant to serve.
