Khowai, 18th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of Tripura State Youth Affairs and Sports Department, organized A two-day state-level Under-17 girls’ football tournament at the Synthetic Football Ground in Khowai on Thursday (17th September, 2026). In the final match, Tripura School Sports secured a 2–0 victory to clinch the title.
The final match of the state-level Under-17 girls’ football competition, played on Thursday afternoon, witnessed intense competition and excitement. A large number of spectators gathered at the venue to watch the thrilling encounter.
On this day, Gomati District faced Tripura Sports School in the final. In the 70-minute match, Tripura Sports School took the lead by scoring a goal in the first half. The team added another goal in the second half, securing a 2–0 victory over Gomati District.
With two goals and a clean sheet, Tripura Sports School emerged victorious in the final.
Ricky Tengkaite received the Best Goalkeeper award, while Jessica Jhara was honoured as the highest goal scorer. The visiting guests presented the individual awards to the players. Joydeb Debbarma presented the trophy to the runners-up team, while Khowai Zilla Parishad Chairperson Aparna Singha Roy handed over the trophy to the champion team.
Present at the final match were Khowai Zilla Parishad Chairperson Aparna Singha Roy, Social activist Joydeb Debbarma, retired physical education teacher Bishnu Pada Chakraborty, Amar Saha, and others.
