Agartala, Tripura, 29th of January, 2025 : Tripura’s Tableau “The worship of 14 Deities in Tripura – Kharchi Puja” for the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on January 26 won the 2nd Position in the country.

In consistence with this, Kharchi Puja and the rituals attached to the worship 14 royal deities and their significance will be showcased in the tableau of Tripura. Three main aspects have been focused in the tableau. Firstly it is a blend of tradition and modernity. Symbolising progress, bamboo designs and frames, application of technology, models in traditional attire etc. will be on display on the tableau. Secondly, 14 deities (Shiva, Durga, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Vani or Saraswati, Kumar or Kartikeya, Ganapa or Ganesha, Brahma, Prithivi, Abdhi or Samudra, Ganga, Sikhi or Agni, Kamadeva and Himadri) will be presented through bamboo and cane craftsmanship. Thirdly, the tableau will house worship of Ha-Buma (earth mother) and cultural presentation. Additionally there will be aesthetical presentation of bamboo and flower made designs with blend of modern artistic spirit. The priest will also be seen performing rituals in traditional attire. At the same time ancient spirituality of Tripura will find expression on the tableau.

Chief Minister Dr.Manik Saha congratulated and congratulated everyone associated with the tableau. The spiritual philosophy of ancient Tripura was showcased in the tableau at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. The tableau showcases the significance of Khachipuja, the worship of the fourteen gods and goddesses, which dates back to the Rajya period. The tableau is made in a blend of tradition and modernity. The awards will be presented to the representatives of the winning states in New Delhi tomorrow.
