Khowai, 31st of January, 2024 : With the initiative of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department of Tulashikhar Two-Day Vegetable Exhibition Cum Competition has been organized at Bhrat Sardar H.S School ground, Tulashikhar under Khowai District on Wednesday (31st January, 2024). The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other dignitaries.
Addressing at the inauguration ceremony the Power, Agriculture Minister said, doubling the income of the farmers is the main goal of the present Government. 28,800 farmers have been provided with various agricultural equipments during the last 5 years. The Power, Agriculture Minister also added that 162 crore rupees have been spent on it. Moreover, 827 agricultural equipments will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the present financial year in Khowai district.
On this day, the Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister and present guests were also handed over the agricultural equipments to the beneficiaries through this programme. In the event, the guests honored 5 prominent farmers of the agricultural division area. 12 farmers were given pump sets, 14 were given power tillers and 20 were given spray machines. Sweet Lime (Mosambi) and banana seedlings were also distributed among the beneficiaries today.
Leader of opposition party and MLA of 26 Asharambari (ST) Constituency Animesh Debbarma, MDC Ananta Debbarma, officials and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
