New Delhi, Delhi, 12th of August, 2026 : A grand Tiranga Bike Rally 2026 was flagged off from Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, today as part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga 2026, dedicated to the National Song Vande Mataram. Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, flagged off the rally in the presence of Union Cabinet Ministers including Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Union Minister of Minority Affairs; Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines; Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment; Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences and Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office; Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying; Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Smt. Nimuben Bambhaniya; Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of state for Culture and Union Minister of state (Independent Charge) of Statistics, Programme Implementation and Planning; Shri V. Somanna, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Railways; and Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs, Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Shri Nityanand Rai and several Members of Parliament.
While addressing the gathering Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan expressed deep emotion on the historic occasion of commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram. He stated that these two immortal words had awakened a burning spirit of patriotism in the hearts and minds of Indians during the struggle to free the Motherland from British colonial rule. He observed that no other expression had captured the awakening of a nation with such power and resonance. Recalling that Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay had penned these immortal words, he said that they gave voice to the very soul of the nation.
Vice-President further highlighted that while people had once marched for the independence of the nation, India was now witnessing a confident and resurgent Bharat marching towards the mission set by the Prime Minister for the Viksit Bharat by 2047. He urged everyone to carry this spirit forward by actively promoting the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in their respective constituencies, states, streets and homes. He concluded by emphasising that as the wheels began to turn, the journey should not end with the rally, and that the spirit of Vande Mataram should remain alive beyond the celebration.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, in his welcome address stated that the gathering was not merely for a bike rally, but was an expression of respect and support for the Tiranga, the symbol of India’s independence and an emblem that binds the nation together in one thread. He recalled that nearly five years ago, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had set before the nation the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. He further noted that even before the beginning of the Amrit Kaal of independence, the Prime Minister had envisioned such Tiranga yatras across the country.
The rally also witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 350 CAPF bikers which included CRPF, BSF, Assam Riffles among other. Over 50 Special biker groups and women bikers also participated in the rally.
As part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign, dedicated to the spirit of national song Vande Mataram, citizens are encouraged to hoist the National Flag at their homes and workplaces between 9 and 17 August and actively participate in this nationwide celebration of patriotism and national unity.
