Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of August, 2026 : Protesting the controversial remarks made by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut about the Gen Z generation, the District Women’s Congress organized a protest rally on Friday (31st July, 2026) evening from the Congress Bhavan in Dharmanagar.The rally marched through several key roads of the town before returning to the Congress Bhavan, where the protesters symbolically expressed their anger by burning a poster of Kangana Ranaut. Demonstrators also raised slogans condemning her remarks.

Women’s Congress leaders alleged that Kangana Ranaut’s comments about the Gen Z generation were highly disrespectful and objectionable. They stated that such remarks insulting the country’s youth are unacceptable and demanded that she immediately withdraw her statement and issue an unconditional public apology.Among those present at the protest were Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee member Kebel Nandi, District Congress President Nirupam Dey, former District Congress President Digbijoy Chakraborty, block-level Congress leaders, members of the District Women’s Congress, party workers, and a large number of Congress supporters.The leaders asserted that they would continue to oppose such remarks through democratic means in the future as well.
