Workshop On Documentation Of Noatia Customary Laws Held.

Ampi, Tripura, 26th of February 2025 :  A one day workshop on documentation of Noatia customary laws was held at Taibandal in Sepahijala district, Tripura. The event was organized by the Law Research Institute (LRI), Eastern Region, Gauhati High Court under the aegis of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. The workshop is a part of ongoing work on documentation of customary laws of fifteen tribes of north eastern region under the supervision of Dr Ranga Ranjan Das, Director, LRI. The workshop has finalized the draft report on the Noatia of Tripura: Ethnography, Culture and Customary Law, prepared by Dr Das, on the basis of empirical work done by Mr. Laldomthanga Kaipeng, Research Associate, LRI The workshop is attended by stakeholders of the community, members of the executive bodies, traditional bodies and others, as stated in a press release.
