Nagpur, 9th of October, 2026 : A familiar campus can become an unfamiliar. At IIM Nagpur on Thursday morning, 25 blindfolded students and staff volunteers walked through that unfamiliarity, guided by 25 students from Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF).
Each pair brought together a person learning to navigate without sight and a companion whose experience became their guide. Between them lay a simple, deeply human act: placing trust in another person, one step at a time.

The occasion was “Walk in My Boots,” a walkathon organised by IIM Nagpur in collaboration with the Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF) to commemorate World Sight Day 2026. The activity offered an encounter with the everyday challenges of navigating without visual cues.
The activity aimed to sensitise the institute’s students to the experiences and day-to-day challenges of persons with visual impairment. During the activity, IIM Nagpur students also formed friendships with the HTBF participants and learned about their educational and career journeys.

At the beginning of the programme, Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, Trustee, HTBF, introduced the foundation and spoke about its work and activities.
Prof. Shailendra Nigam, Chairperson, Career Development Services (CDS), welcomed the visiting students to IIM Nagpur and interacted with them. Prof. Ranjitha G P, Chairperson, Student Affairs, was also present.
