Yoga Mahotsav Held At ICFAI.

Agartala, 7th April, 2024 : The ICFAI University Tripura in association with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy , an autonomous organization under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has celebrated Yoga Mahotsav in connection with celebration of International Day of Yoga at the University Campus in a befitting manner on 6th  April, 2024.

This program is also conducted in collaboration with Election Commission for systematic voters education and electoral process. The theme for 2024 celebration is “Yoga for Women Empowerment”. The theme is selected with the aim to activate and inspire the Women community in Yoga for sustainability and global development. The Camp started at 6.30 am morning with a colorful inauguration program at football ground of the University. The Camp inaugurated by Sri Swami Amartyananda Ji Maharaj, the Secretary of Agartala Ramakrishna Mission as Chief Guest, Principal of Swami Vivekananda College, Mohanpur Dr. Haradhan Saha as Special Guest and Sri Subhasish Bondopadhyay, the additional Chief Electoral Officer & the Sub divisional Magistrate of Mohanpur, Shri Subash Datta  respectively as Guest of Honour.  The Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Dr.) Biplab Halder, HoD of Physical Education, Yoga & Naturopathy department Dr. Laishram Shila Devi and the Registrar Dr. A Ranganath was also graced the program.

The programme was organized in hybrid mode by which thousands of people have participated and benefited. The Sub divisional Magistrate of Mohanpur, Shri Subash Datta joined the program with a big rally consisting of young students. After the inauguration program, the students of department of physical education of the University demonstrated Yoga practically to the participants. Prof. Prasenjit Majumder of the University has explained various common protocols about yoga to the audiences. Around 1200 participants from CRPF Growth Centre and various institutions like Sanskrit University, Swami Vivekananda College, Kamalghat School etc had participated physically in the programme. The entire programme was live telecasted through Internet & Social Media. Needless to say that Yoga is very important to bridge between our mind and body. Yoga is a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body. It also helps in developing our physical, mental and spiritual minds.

The Vice Chancellor of the University has expressed his heartiest thanks to all concerned for successful completion of the programme. Sweets were distributed among the participants after completion of the Camp.
