Mumbai, Maharashtra, 3rd of July, 2026 : Giving a major boost to innovation among young engineers in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, NICMAR hosted the grand finale of the inaugural Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge 2026 in Mumbai. The nationwide competition witnessed participation from over 20,000 students representing more than 500 educational institutions. Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering emerged as the winner, receiving a share of the ₹30 lakh prize pool along with a Global Infrastructure Excellence Tour.
Chief Guest Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, said, “Futuristic research is essential for the development of the future. Our young engineers have the potential to make India self-reliant by adopting new technologies that reduce costs while maintaining quality.”
Ajit Gulabchand, Chairman of NICMAR, said, “The objective of the Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge is not just to produce degree holders, but to nurture innovative professionals capable of solving real-world problems. A strong India can only be built on the strength of talented individuals.”
Alongside the competition, an Industry-Academia Conclave brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and academicians to discuss the future of sustainable, technology-driven, and resilient infrastructure. The event emerged as a powerful platform showcasing collaboration between young talent, academia, and industry in shaping India’s infrastructure future.
