Youth Congress Protest Over Attack On Congress Workers.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 13th of August, 2026 : Congress workers and supporters staged a protest on Wednesday (12th August, 2026), alleging that those accused of attacking Youth Congress workers in Dharmanagar have still not been arrested. Demanding the immediate arrest of those allegedly involved in the attack, workers of the Yubarajnagar Block Congress blocked the Botrashi–Jor Karlbhat road in Dharmanagar.

According to Congress leaders, BJP-supported miscreants have been accused of attacking Congress leaders Zakir Hossain and Sahid Ahmed. Congress alleged that despite a considerable period having passed since the incident, the police administration has not arrested the accused. The protest was organized by the Yubarajnagar Block Congress demanding the speedy arrest of all those allegedly involved.

The protesters said that attacks on Congress leaders and workers over political differences would not be tolerated under any circumstances. They demanded that the police take immediate legal action against those involved in the incident. The protesters also stated that their agitation would continue until the accused are arrested.

Former Dharmanagar District Congress president Digbijoy Chakraborty, Pradesh Congress Committee member Kebalkanti Nandi, leaders of the Mahila Congress, several leaders of the Yubarajnagar Block Congress, and a large number of party workers and supporters were present during the protest.The road blockade disrupted traffic in the area for some time. The administration later took steps to bring the situation under control. Congress leaders demanded that the police conduct a speedy investigation, arrest all those allegedly involved in the attack, and take appropriate legal action.
