10th Edition Of Blood Donation Camp To Mark The 26th Death Anniversary Of Late Makhan Lal Saha.

Agartala, 2nd of February, 2024 : A blood donation camp was organized on Friday (2nd February, 2024) at the M.L Plaza premises to mark the 26th death anniversary of Late Makhan Lal Saha, a prominent businessman of the state. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the blood donation camp. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is the son of Late Makhan Lal Saha. The blood donation programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and other dignitaries.

Addressing at inauguration ceremony the Chief Minister said his father Makhan Lal Saha was a very pious person. He used to do Chandipath regularly. Even then he provided employment to many people. Agartala also set up a cinema hall called Rupasi for the entertainment of the towns people. The divine Makhan Lal Saha never compromised on anything when it came to living an honest life. Following his father’s example, he is also trying to work for the welfare of the people of the state. The Chief Minister said that nothing can be a great donation like blood donation. A person can save the lives of 4 patients by donating blood. Presently, people are organizing blood donation camps on various social occasions including birthdays, death days, wedding anniversaries in the state. It is undoubtedly a commendable initiative. The present State Government is working for the overall development of the state under the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the occasion, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that Blood donation has now become a festival in the state. Responding to the Chief Minister request, various organizations, clubs and social organizations have come forward to donate blood across the state. Corporator Ratna Datta, Social activist Sanjoy Saha,  Makhan Lal Saha’s elder son Ratan Saha and many other dignitaries were present in the event. Along with the blood donation camp, blankets were also distributed among poor & needy families. The chief minister along with other guests of the event handed over the blankets to poor & needy families.
