37th Convocation Of IGNOU.

Agartala, 20th of February 2024 : The 37th Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held on Tuesday, 20th February, 2024. The main function was held at IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi wherein Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon’ble Vice-President of India was the ‘Chief Guest’ and delivered the ‘Convocation Address’.

The Regional Convocation has simultaneously been held through Videoconferencing mode at Agartala Regional Centre on the same date. The Regional Convocation was held at Agartala Town Hall.

At this convocation more than 3 lakh students from all over India have received their Degrees/Diplomas & Certificates.

Dr. Biswajit Bhowmik, Senior Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Agartala delivered ‘Welcome Speech and presented a ‘Report on various academic activities of the Regional Centre.

Dr. Sumanta Chakrabarti, Registrar, MBB University, Agartala was the “Guest of Honour’ at the Convocation of Regional Centre- Agartala. In his ‘Convocation Address’, Dr. Chakrabarti congratulated all degree recipients and urged them to dedicate themselves for nation building. He lauded the efforts of IGNOU to bring higher education at the door step of the learners.

340 students have received their Degrees in person at the Convocation held at Agartala. 1,294 students were awarded their degrees in absentia. Thus, altogether 1,634 students got their degrees at Regional Centre, Agartala. Tamal Das, a student of Master of Arts in Sociology has bagged Gold Medal for scoring highest marks in MA Sociology programme among all MA-Sociology students registered with the University throughout India.

Certificates were made available on https://digilocker.gov.in/installapp and awardees can access their digital certificates using their Digilocker Id.
