Agartala, 20th of February 2024 : With the initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Government of Tripura, Closing ceremony of “Khelo India University Games 2023 (YOGASAN)” at Netaji Subhas Regional Coaching Centre(NSRCC) Indoor Stadium, Netaji Chowmuhani, Agartala on Tuesday (20th February, 2024).
Addressing at the Closing Ceremony Of YOGASAN Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, Yoga practice is related to soul. Yoga is the tradition and pride of our country. The Chief Minister said that before 2014, enthusiasm for yoga among the people of the country was limited. But with the sole efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has reached the world today. June 21 has been declared as the International Day of Yoga with the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister also added that sports should be continued along with studies in student life. Positive thinking develops when associated with sports. By participating in sports, each other’s language and culture are introduced. This is a culture of our country. Presently, the girls of the state are also gaining fame in the sports world. The present government of the state is very serious about the development of sports.
Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Minister Tinku Roy, said that the Present Government of the state is very sincere in the development of sports. The children of the state are presently being targeted to achieve fame at the national as well as international level. Tripura boys and girls have achieved success in Asian Games, Para Olympic Games The present Government of the State has taken various schemes for the betterment of the sports field and for the betterment of sportspersons. In this context, he mentioned the Chief Minister Talent Search Team, Chief Minister Development Scheme.
Dr. PK Chakraborty, Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. The Chief Minister and the guests presented the medals to the players of the universities of different states on the occasion. Secretary General of Yoga,san Dr. Joydee Acharjee, Director of Sports Department, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs of Tripura State S.B Nath, Competition Manager CK Mishra. Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder has concluded the ceremony with vote of thanks.
