With the initiative of Forest Department Government of Tripura 4th Hornbill Festival 2023 celebration programme has been organized at the premises of Hathaikotor (Baramura) Eco-Park, Teliamura under Khowai District on Saturday (7th January, 2023).
MLA Kalyani Roy has inaugurated 4th Hornbill Festival 2023 by lighting the lamp. In the presence of many dignitaries the MLA Kalyani Roy inaugurated Hornbill Festival.
Hornbill Festival was first proposed after a meeting chaired by former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. Since then, every year, the department and administrative activities related to this Hornbill Festival.
“Hornbill Festival as an important issue in protecting the natural balance or protecting the nature” said MLA Kalyani Roy at Hornbill Festival celebration programme. She also said the Hornbill festival has gained great popularity during this period and in the coming days, this Hornbill festival will spread great prestige in the entire district and the state through everyone’s spontaneity. The Hornbill Festival started under the personal management of the then Forest Officer Niraj Chanchal and the personal initiative of the former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. It needs to be mentioned here that many people still witness the presence of this Hornbill bird on the national highway located in the middle of the mountains with this deep forest of Baramura.
K.S. Shetty, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Akshay Balu Bhorde, District Forest Officers and many other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
