71 Bn CRPF launched Meri Mati, Mera Desh Campaign.

On 10th August, 2023, 71 Bn CRPF has launched the celebration of “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” campaign upon the theme of Mitti Ko Naman, Veero Ka Bandan’. Under the able guidance of Shri. Subrat Kumar Mishra, IGP Tripura Sector, and supervision of Commandant Shri. Ram Palat, 71 Bn CRPF, a road has been named in the commemoration of CRPF martyr namely “Sahid Uttam Kumar Singh Gurung Lane” who sacrificed his life for the sake of his mother land during counter-insurgency operations in Assam on dated: 13’March 1999. The road leading from NH-8 to Sabrum Sub-Jail towards Maitri Bridge, Netaji Para Ward No.04. is named as “Sahid Uttam Kumar Singh Gurung Lane”.

The patriotic programme witnessed by Mrs. Bina Singh Gurung, wife of Martyr and his son Rajeev Singh Gurung also inaugurated Mrs. Rama Poddar (Honorable President of Sabrum Nagar Panchayat), Special Guest Mr. Pradeep Das (Honorable Member of Sabrum Nagar Panchayat). Mr. Ratan Chakraborty (Honorable Member of Sabrum Nagar Panchayat), Shri R.Daleng (Honorable Deputy Executive of Sabrum Nagar Panchayat), Mr. Shantipriya Bhowmik (Former Chairman of Sabrum Nagar Panchyat), Mr.Tapas Lodh (Senior Social worker of Sabrum), Shri Ram Palat (Commandant-71 Bn. CRPF), Shri K.K.Mukhopadhyay (Second-In- Commandant-71 Bn.CRPF) and Shri Werilo Lasuh, (Asst. Comdt. 71 Bn CRPF) along with other officials of 71 Bn. CRPF were present in the occasion. The martyr who laid down his life for the sovereignty of the country is immortal in society and as well as martyr family will always be respected for centuries as a saga of pride.
