Dharmanagar, Tripura, 16th of April 2026 : A serious road accident in Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura left two drivers injured near the Anandabazar petrol pump on the Dharmanagar –Kailashahar road.

According to reports, a high-speed scooter suddenly rammed into an e-rickshaw, causing panic in the area. The scooter involved bears registration number TR05C9104, while the e-rickshaw’s number is TR05A2609.Eyewitnesses immediately informed the Dharmanagar Fire Department, whose personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured. The victims have been identified as scooter rider Arjun Malakar (29) and e-rickshaw driver Montush Das (36).Both were quickly shifted to Dharmanagar District Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Doctors have stated that their conditions are being closely monitored.Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding may have been the cause of the accident. Traffic movement was disrupted for some time in the area but later returned to normal.The incident has sparked concern among local residents, who have urged the administration to implement stricter traffic regulation and speed control measures on the road.
