Dharmanagar, Tripura, 4th of May 2026 : In the wake of heightened political tension following the by-election results in Dharmanagar, a mysterious death of a youth leader has triggered widespread sensation. The case has taken a new turn after the victim’s wife filed a written complaint.The deceased, Rahul Kishore Roy, a BJP Yuva Morcha leader, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. His wife, Ananya Bhattacharjee, has lodged a formal complaint at Dharmanagar Police Station, levying serious allegations against multiple individuals.

In her complaint, she named several persons, including Kankan Chowdhury (son of Kelish Chowdhury, resident of Bhairab Sarani), Hirakjyoti Nath (son of Mrinal Nath, Nayapara), Manoj Purkayastha (son of late Mohit Purkayastha, Chandrapur), who is reportedly a teacher, as well as Niladri Bhattacharjee, Suraj Dev, Prabal Dev, and some unidentified individuals.

According to the complaint, Rahul had been under severe mental stress for a prolonged period and was allegedly subjected to threats and pressure from certain local members of his own party. It is further claimed that on the day the by-election results were announced, a group of party members came to his house and got involved in a heated argument with him, creating a tense and disturbing environment.

The complaint states that following this incident, Rahul became mentally shattered and eventually took an extreme step. The family alleges that this is not merely a case of suicide, but the result of sustained mental harassment that may have been orchestrated.

Party workers and supporters have demanded that those responsible be identified and brought to justice. The complaint calls for strict legal action against the accused individuals.

Police have reportedly registered the complaint and initiated an investigation. The incident has led to rising tension in the area, while political circles are witnessing intense exchanges over the matter.According to police sources, all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined, and necessary legal action will be taken based on the findings.
