Agartala, Tripura, 12th of May, 2026 : Jampuijala RD Block witnessed a landmark development with the inauguration of a Community Managed Training Centre (CMTC) under the World Bank–funded Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP), implemented by the Tribal Welfare Department. The centre was inaugurated by Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Ram Pada Jamatia, marking a significant step toward strengthening livelihood opportunities for tribal communities.

The CMTC will serve as a dedicated training hub for producer groups and self-help group members, offering skill development in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and other technical fields. A one-time grant of ₹15 lakh has been provided for infrastructure development, with facilities including a training hall, smart classroom, hostel, office space, and internet connectivity. The centre will be operated under the Rangbatang Cluster Level Federation, creating avenues for enhanced income generation while also enabling various technical agencies to conduct training programmes in the region.

The event was attended by BSC Chairman Birendra Kishore Debbarma, MLAs Manab Debbarma and Biswajit Koloi, TRESP Tribal Development Specialist Jiban Debbarma, District Project Manager Mallika Debbarma, and other officials. The programme was presided over by BDO Shri Obed L. Darlong and coordinated by Block Project Manager Shri Joton Ghosh. Similar training centres are planned across 23 tribal-dominated blocks, aiming to bring long-term socio-economic benefits to tribal populations across the state.
