Ampi, Tripura, 20th of May 2026 : On the occasion of World Dengue Day observation Ompi CHC has organized an instructive dengu awareness programme here in Doctor Singh Para under Gamaku AAM, Ompi CHC. On this occasion a large number of local Reang community people have assembled here in the programme venue and availed a lots of essential knowledge over the dengue tendency and its prevention techniques.

To live safe from Dengue the concerned CHC authority has provided all essential tips to the innocent Reang inhabitants of the area. To create sufficient awareness amidst the indigenous communities the team has moved house to house and taught them regarding Dengue signs and symptoms as high grade fever, join/ muscle pain, severe headache, vomiting etc. They taught them to abolish staying water nearby houses maintaining surrounding cleanliness. Instructed them to wear full sleeve garments while going to jungle. Motivated them to utilise indoor residual spray.

The CHC authority has provided free medical service, conducted different test and through generated prescription free medicines were distributed amidst patients. Officials have advised them to use mosquito net. Instructed them to manage proper household waste disposal.

As per the report, to raise awareness about the prevention and control of dengue fever prior to the monsoon season the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare officially promotes the World Dengue Day observation to encourage community participation in identifying and eliminating mosquito breeding sites. According to the CHC authority, Dengue is a viral infection primarily transmitted by the daytime- biting Aedes aegypti mosquito, which breeds in stagnant, clean water.
